CAADPE Position: Must Read

State lawmakers make critical policy decisions that impact SUD consumers and providers, and how each legislator votes on SUD policy matters to our work. Every year CAADPE advocates for legislation that supports the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, culturally competent mental health and substance use disorder care for Californians.

To better measure our elected officials, we created a voting record for crucial pieces of SUD legislation in 2022. This record shows how each Senator and Assemblymember voted on key SUD policy bills that mirror the values of CAADPE members.

Reviewing this report, special consideration should be given to our sponsored two bills last session. Both AB 1860 (Ward) on SUD Workforce and SB 57 (Weiner) on Overdose Prevention Programs were crucial for the system transformation and should be weighted accordingly.
