Center Point, Inc. as a recipient of Round #3 Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program funding has completed construction of a 50-bed residential SUD Program. The process of assembling a development team, management of the project, complying with regulations, and navigating the funding portals can be challenging for an organization without previous development experience.

The presentation will highlight some of the areas that need to be taken into consideration when applying for funding to avoid cost overruns, noncompliance and, or regulatory violations.

This presentation will review proven Harm Reduction interventions within a Public Health Framework which were initiated beginning in the mid-90’s in San Francisco through the Department of Public Health and Substance Use Disorder providers such as Walden House- now HealthRight360. As we approach Overdose Awareness Day August 31st, we will highlight the evolution of overdose interventions and use of Naloxone as a component of Medication First Harm Reduction strategies.

This training will cover building strategic partnerships with schools in the community, the stigma attached to mental health and substance use disorder services, logistics, and sustaining relationships. Taylor, President of Center Point Inc., this comprehensive needs assessment explores the unique guidelines, standards of care, and common barriers for gender-specific treatment. The presentation emphasizes the evolution of treatment models for women, focusing on gender-responsive, trauma-informed approaches to support women in their recovery journey.

The assessment also highlights the core components necessary for effective treatment, such as creating a safe and supportive environment, addressing trauma, and providing culturally competent services. By understanding the physiological, psychological, and social factors unique to women, this presentation aims to enhance the effectiveness of treatment programs and promote positive outcomes for women in need.

This presentation will help participants to better understand the characteristics of justice-involved individuals who suffer from co-occurring mental health (MH) and substance use disorders (SUD), as well as how CDCR prepares for the community transition for individuals who have co-occurring MH/SUD, with an emphasis on individuals who have serious mental illness (SMI). Specifically, the presenters will outline the challenges faced by the co-occurring SMI/SUD population when seeking SUD residential services.

Participants will gain a better understanding of the CDCR and other community resources that are available to support community-based providers that serve the SMI/SUD population, and will have an opportunity to share with the presenters concerns they have and experiences they’ve encountered when trying to serve justice involved-individuals with SMI/SUD.

This presentation gives an introductory overview into the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) mission, standards, accreditation process, and value of CARF Accreditation from the perspective of CARF, organizations, and from persons served. This presentation will aim to expand on the role of CARF accreditation in enhancing quality, value, and outcomes in health and human services. Participants will gain initial insights into CARF's standards manual, steps to accreditation and re-accreditation, and the advantages that accreditation offers to organizations and their clients, and additional resources to further support organizations interested in pursuing CARF accreditation and learning more.
