SPARK-T

Supporting SUD Providers with Training & Capacity-Building Resources

SPARK-T (previously referred to as the DHCS Technical Assistance Grant) is a vital initiative aimed at addressing the increasing need for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment services across California. As the landscape of SUD treatment continues to evolve, small and mid-sized providers are particularly in need of training and capacity-building resources.

This grant focuses on supporting these providers through various initiatives being discussed at the State and local County levels. Key areas of focus include the integration of Harm Reduction into all SUD treatment services, reaching the 95% of individuals who require SUD treatment, and establishing lower barrier care across the SUD system.

Additionally, the grant emphasizes practice, solidification, and expansion in a community-affirming way, ensuring that providers are equipped to deliver effective and compassionate care.

  • Helping providers learn about Medicaid and other SUD services.
  • Assisting providers in expanding services and locations.
  • Supporting providers in sizing up their programs to meet growing demands.
